Roger Chastel (1897 - 1981)
Painter of the school of Paris between figuration and abstraction.
In his work strongly influenced by cubism, he seeks the essential through synthesis and refinement.
During his career, he painted one of the panels of the Palace of the League of Nations in Geneva with Vuillard, Roussel and Maurice Denis. Professor appreciated by the Beaux-Arts de Paris, he participated in numerous collective and personal exhibitions.
He represented France at the Venice Biennale in 1952.
