Anacapri on the island of Capri.
Painted during one of his frequent stays on the island of Capri, the painting can most probably be located in Anacapri, where the Dubufe family owned a villa. A young islander, leaning against a low wall, her basket of roses resting on the edge of the wall, looks dreamy. A lower shot adds depth and highlights the relief of the magnificent Italian island.
Edouard Rosset-Granger, painting with contrasting brushstrokes and colors.
Édouard Rosset-Granger uses a light touch for the landscape and a more polished touch, highlighting the fine details, for the figures.
The palette features a lovely range of soft colors in pinks, beige and white, enhanced by the bright red of the scarf.
